THE THAW, CHRISTIAN DRONGO KID CULTURE, ENTER THE WORLDS DUMBEST YOUTH

Posted on May 17, 2013 at 9:30am 3 Comments

LOL, The YouTube clip referenced by this Patheos blog is actually funny.

Yet it is also a little sad in that kids can be so dumbed down by propaganda.

These twits in this video are evidently dumber than Drongo's Droppings.

They are also Young Earth Creationists, which makes them proper Drongo Droppings.…

Irish Prime Minister defies Catholic Church on Abortion Issue! He's a hero in my books!

Posted on May 17, 2013 at 8:44am 2 Comments

Yes, the Catholic church threatened the Prime Minister of Ireland, Enda Kenny with excommunication if he instigates the abortion reform, where women will be allowed an abortion if it is deemed harmful to the woman's wellbeing.

His response was: “Everybody’s entitled to their opinion here but as explained to the Cardinal and members of the church my book is the constitution and the constitution is determined by the people. That’s the people’s book. We live in a Republic and I have a…

Is there a war on Christianity in Arkansas? Or is it simply protecting the Constitution from Evangelistic Christians?

I was intrigued by this article concerning the Freedom From Religion Foundation stopping prayers at a school graduation and the parents taking the graduation into the church to allow prayers.

http://ht.ly/l6a9U

They are claiming that it is an unfair attack on the school, even though the school's graduation with prayers would be unconstitutional.

If you listen to the public broadcast debate, you will notice that the atheist representative…

A recent post I produced for Australia's ABC religious forum: Who Agrees?

Posted on May 16, 2013 at 3:30am 1 Comment

I posted this after some theists inferred that us atheists are afraid.

Afraid of what, I haven't the foggiest notion of what we can be afraid of, maybe I'm a little afraid of heights, but that has nothing to do with my atheism, many Christians are also afraid of heights. So I posted this in reply:

Hey there!

Brother Richard used to be a minister - but is no longer a minister and is Atheist now. He is the owner of the site. I'm not sure about that article you linked and if it's legit. I'll look in to it.

Glad to have you on the site.

Have fun!

Yes, I live a very interesting life, always curious, wanting to know what life is like for other people. What do they value and how they think. I see the world full of very nice people, hard working, faithful to their families and communities, and facing many challenges.

As I travelled to other countries I wanted to eat their foods and stay in homes or family run B & B. I never suffered any pain at the hands of strangers and found most people wanting to talk with me. My two favorite places were China and Turkey because they were so different from my country.

In China, I was among the first to be allowed in when they opened their boarders to westerners. I had a research project and access into homes, schools, hospitals, work areas, child and elder care facilities. It was very difficult to get domestic violence data and so just talked to people about their lives. Every meal included peanuts, roasted, fried, boiled, mashed, and soup. Watermelon was used so prolifically  they had huge piles of rinds in the middle of the streets where trucks would come and haul them away.

In Turkey, the many daily prayers coming through loud speakers was strange. In the heat of the day, women wore gabardine coats closed from neck to feet and wore scarves, babushka style over their heads. Men wore those white cotton  tank-top shirts and a light linen type trousers. When you see news photos of women in those long coats you would think the temperature was at freezing, when in fact it was well over 100 degrees F.

Glad you got a laugh out of the "definition". Seriously, we infidels do need to speak up and fight the "religious right", and defend our (dis)beliefs. Otherwise, the consequences will be disasterous.

My first funeral as an atheist

Posted by Two Cult Survivor on May 21, 2013 at 11:30am 0 Comments

I posted the bulk of this on another thread, but wanted to add some context separately.

I finally confronted my faith and embraced the fact of my atheism late last August, 2012. Days after I revealed my "epiphany" to a few friends who knew me from another message board, my sister died from Lou Gehrig's Disease (which pissed her off because she hated catching a disease from someone she never f---ed).

THAT was my sister, understand? She was a beautiful, life-loving, potty-mouthed…

Death of a family member

Posted by Larry Taylor on May 20, 2013 at 8:15pm 7 Comments

OK. I am venting. My mother died two weeks ago. She was a “god fearing christian.” Before her death she refused all medical treatment. She wanted to be left alone. She even refused to speak with my brother who is a methodist minister. He is a pip, let me tell you! I suspect she did not believe, but a woman born in her time could not and did not state her actual beliefs. This is the opening salvo to all christians; FUCK YOU! I had so many people come and tell…

Unbelievable!!!!!!!!

This probably should not have shocked me as much as it did (especially since I am in Texas). I actually thought my coworkers were playing a joke on me because they know I am an atheist. Sadly, this was no joke. This actually happened.

I work in a psychiatric hospital. The doctors who admit patients are general MDs. (Psychiatrists see patients after admission) Yesterday evening we received several calls from irate parents. A new doctor who was doing admissions yesterday actually…

anti-atheist rant from an Orthodox Mormon part 2

What do you think of this,

Nathan Young,

No Jason Torpy it is you that should be banned for promoting atheism, a belief that has no foundation in reality and zero proof behind it.  The letter was a mockery of your atheist beliefs.  I request to the board here that they remove Jason for his unverifiable beliefs in atheism for which he has no proof other than his arrogance.  The letter was a mockery of atheism.  Atheism is stupid and it should be mocked and it…
