"Atheist Schools of Thought" - from Atheist Climber Blog

From Atheist Climber Blog

Writing this blog has been a huge learning experience for me. I've had a large amount of comments, on some threads particularly, which have ranged from enlightened thought through to downright insanity, but each has helped me formulate just where I stand in relation to religion, humanity and the universe. One thing has become clear to me when discussing issues with… Continue

"It's OK, it's part of my religion" from Atheist Climber blog

I published this piece at my blog and thought you all might appreciate it.

As you may know, my universe has no room for the possibility of a god. And in general I don't care what other people think and believe as long as their suppositions and practices don't affect me in any way. You can believe in fairies and unicorns and believe you have to bay at the moon 2 times a night to stop from… Continue

"Science, atheism and the search for more" - From Atheist Climber Blog

One of the innate human characteristics that separates us from other animals on earth is our insatiable need to find out "why". Our natural need to seek for things like food and a mate is shared with other animals, but the questioning of why things happen is a unique to humans. It is ingrained in us, from the first day we start searching… Continue

I'm sorry, Martin. We have filled two tables and I don't think, at this stage, I'm likely to get enough takers to fill a third table of 10. I will, however, put your name on a waiting list in case anyone pulls out at the last moment.

Hi Martin! Good to see a fellow Melbournite here, and another multimedia designer to boot! I'm definitely attending the convention. It'll be great to catch up with everyone in person then. Cheers, Ali.

Hey there fellow Aussie. I see you're in Melbourne. Attending the Atheist Con in March? I am! I'm taking a road trip with my friend.. It's a tad expensive for my student salary, but i think it'll be worth it =) Have a great weekend.

I'll certainly be there, Martin! I'll make my mobile number available to AN members closer to the event so we can all catch up.

Hi Martin! I'd like to invite you to join our Aussie, Kiwi and South Pacific Atheists Group.

I'd also like to let you know about the Rise of Atheism Global Atheist Convention to be held in Melbourne next March. It's going to be huge - over 1000 tickets have been sold already! Speakers will include Richard Dawkins, PZ Myers, Dan Barker, Lyn Allison, Tanya Levin, Phillip Adams, Robyn Williams and more!

I hope you will join our group - and maybe also join us at the Convention next March.

Enjoy the site!

Come together one and all

Hello fellow atheists!  I have joined this site in an attempt to find other rational individuals, such as myself, and to promote a current charity drive that I am trying to get going for the Oklahoma tornado victims.  I have managed to get many groups from around my area, including the Beyond Belief Foundation to back me on this endeavor.

I am located in Newnan, Ga and have my own atheist group entitled "Coweta County Atheists".  I am currently being backed by Spaulding Co.…

Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film video

Posted by Debra Stevenson on May 21, 2013 at 2:37pm 0 Comments

There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film.  The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons.  He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.

Do you support 'traditional' marriage, vot now ad

There is an ad that reads ' Do you support 'traditional' marriage? Vote Now"!  .

No, I don't support 'traditional' marriage because there is no such thing. I support heterosexual and same-sex couples marry each other legally , yes.  'Traditional' marriage promoters largely do not believe that heterosexual women are co-equal to their husbands.  Their only purpose in 'traditional' marriage is to sexually satisfy their husbands if they can and raise children and do all…

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/21/texas-merry-christmas-bill_n_3312786.html?utm_hp_ref=politics

i've got no problem with everyone saying "merry christmas" on christmas day.  however, they've turned it into an entire holiday season where it lasts a month or more.  in those situations it should be perfectly acceptable to say "happy holidays" or call it a…
